Oude Quetsche is a beer with spontaneous fermentation that is obtained by fermenting pitted fresh plums in a mixture of 1 and 2 year old lambics for a period of 4 months.
Not filtered and not pasteurized. This beer is fermented in the bottle for a minimum of 3 months.
The lambics that they use are fermented and aged in oak barrels in their own stud farm.
They originate from different types of wort brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon.
The taste is slightly sour and has a fruity and round touch.
This makes Oude Quetsche a little more accessible for non-experts or enthusiasts with less refined taste.
It also has a slight dryness of the skin of plums. In the nose, a plum brandy perfume can be observed.
